A home in Canada could soon be a thing of the past.
A new law that came into effect on January 1 would make it illegal to build homes without having a permit from the province.
“We’re seeing a lot of home improvement, home renovation companies start to make money by offering home improvement services in Canada,” said Scott Campbell, executive director of the Canadian Home Builders Association.
He said this trend is in line with a recent trend towards home remodelling in the United States.
The new law has not yet been tested by courts and is not currently being enforced, but it’s already been used by many Canadian companies.
Campbell said that the new law will make it harder for people to find a home with the right permit to build one.
“It’s been happening all over the world, but in Canada, it’s been more of a phenomenon,” he said.
He added that people are often afraid of getting sued by builders for building without a permit.
That’s why he wants to make sure that people know that home improvement companies can’t build without a home improvement permit.
“If you’re building without an [application], you can get sued,” Campbell said.
“That’s why we want to make it as easy as possible to get a home inspector and get an inspector’s certificate and get your permit and get a permit.”
The law does allow home builders to do some renovations without having an inspection certificate.
That can include repainting, painting, replacing windows, and adding electrical and plumbing work.
However, it also applies to new homes built before January 1.
A home inspector would still need to approve renovations.
The Home Builds Association is a trade association that represents builders, home builders, contractors, and home improvement workers.
It is also responsible for educating the public about the new rules and helping them navigate the system.
Campbell added that it’s important that people understand that there are different ways to build and that there’s no one right way to build.
“Building without a building permit is not necessarily going to be safe,” he told CBC News.
“But if you’re not building with the proper permit, there’s not a lot you can do to make that home look like it has a purpose.”
