Posted April 19, 2019 09:23:13Andrew Ladd had a lot of good years with the Islanders, but he hasn’t lived up to his lofty potential.
The team announced Thursday that it had traded the winger to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a 2017 first-round pick.
Ladd was traded to Anaheim along with a 2018 second-round selection, a third-round choice, a sixth-round draft pick, a seventh-round compensatory selection and a conditional 2017 second-rounder.
Lad had played just eight games with the Rangers last season, registering one assist.
The 28-year-old was also sent to Anaheim as part of a three-team deal that sent the Rangers two first- and third-rounder in exchange.
The Islanders will now have the right to match any trade in which the New Jersey Devils make a trade.
Ladd was a restricted free agent who had been in limbo since the Devils signed him to a two-year, $3.5 million deal in November.
